My Awesome HARA Internship Experience!😆

To say my internship at HARA was interesting is an oversimplification. For me, HARA was such a fun place to learn! When I first joined, I was immediately welcomed by members of the Business Development and Marketing team where I was assigned to. I was very lucky to be guided by my two supervisors, Larissa and Renee. Larissa was not just very friendly, but she genuinely values the team’s self-development and believes we should not discount ourselves. Tasks given to me included a lot of learnings and reflections — she even trusted me to write a research paper for a big international journal for the company! An intern! Whereas Renee, my first ever “bule” (foreigner) supervisor, frequently kept me in check and gave feedback about my work throughout my internship.
Our team consists of a designer, illustrator, business development analysts, community and campaign specialist, and customer service lead. They are all super friendly people, so I did not find it difficult to adapt. They are very helpful and informative in providing information to the new, stupid and knows nothing- intern :’). Apart from the people and the environment, I really enjoyed the topics I was working on. To be involved in an upcoming and innovative industry that is introducing Blockchain to Agriculture is very exciting.
Before I interned at HARA, I didn’t know much about Blockchain, Ethereum and other things related to digital assets. The works given required me to quickly learn new topics and read a lot of journals about Blockchain articles related to food and supply chains. This was useful for the own journal I was asked to write. The process of learning about a new industry and compiling it into a journal was certainly one of a kind experience.
One of my favorite activities in the office was Larissa’s learning platform. In this program, the whole team is encouraged to spend time to learn something new every week, and then share our learnings to each other (which can be random about the healthiest part of a watermelon, Javanese philosophers, or how drugs criminals escape from jail). Then every two weeks, one keynote speaker is chosen to give an in-depth presentation about a certain topic. For instance, I gave a presentation on the theory of Macroeconomics. I was impressed by how a team can have so many different interest and expertise on very diverse topics, and how much different things I can learn within such a short period of time!
In my opinion, the internship experience at HARA is an interesting and exciting experience. Here, I learned that:
“In life, we will never stop learning something, and must continue to renew our knowledge.”
In addition, I also learned that:
“At work, you need to think wisely on how to be efficient — so everything can be done swiftly yet with optimum results.”
For those who are new to the office world, I highly recommend you to experience HARA!
